Consisting of a LeapPad Player, a Magic Pen and various books (with cartridges) that you can choose from, the LeapPad brings to life the fantasy notion of a magic book.
It is quite a simple system if you think about it. You pop in your favourite book on the Player and insert the accompanying cartridge. On the book are hotspots which are picked up by the Magic Pen. The Player then accesses the book's cartridge and plays the correct sounds. For example, if your child points to a cow in the book with the Magic Pen, the book will say 'it's a cow'.There are books where your child can learn to match shapes, learn to spell, learn basic maths, learn to read and much more.
The LeapPad is not only educational but also entertaining. Being fun is importnat because children tend to stay away from things that cannot attract and hold their interest.The LeapPad is recommended for children ages 4 to 8 years.
